Be Educated on How to have Your New Ceiling Installed
When installing the ceiling grid for the dropped acoustical ceiling tiles (which is the most common way to install a ceiling in a basement - due to pipes, HVAC systems and wires), it is important that the ceiling be over the top of the basement walls. If the ceiling is attached directly to the newly finished basement walls, it becomes necessary to remove parts of the ceiling in order to remove any parts of the wall panels. Removing parts of the ceiling is not a minor "construction" task. The wall angle, which is attached directly to the finished wall, needs to be removed. The first row of tiles and the adjoining ceiling structure must also be removed in order to get to the panels to remove them. Many companies do not consider this to be a problem. However, an informed Homeowner will realize that it is far more efficient and sensible to have the ceiling over the top of the walls. Basement Transformation Technologies complete system, including the ceilings, walls and floors is an integral unit which makes the basement area fully accessible in case of issues behind the walls, ceilings or floor.
